Overview

Lacrosse had been contested at the 1904 Olympics but after 1908, it has never again been an official medal sport on the Olympic Program, although demonstration lacrosse events were contested at the 1928, 1932, and 1948 Olympics. Three teams were entered in the 1908 lacrosse tournament but South Africa withdrew, which left only Canada and Great Britain to contest a single game for the Olympic title. The game was held at the [White City Stadium] in Shepherd’s Bush, the main Olympic Stadium in 1908.
