Viktor Zhluktov played his entire career from 1973 to 1985 with one club – CSKA Moskva, winning eleven Soviet titles (1974, 1975, 1977-85) and ten European Champions Cup titles (1974, 1976, 1978-85) with them. In 1981 he was selected as part of the best line at the Soviet Championships. Internationally Zhluktov won gold (1976) and silver (1980) at the Olympic Games, was a five-time World champion (1978, 1979, 1981-83), and a four-time European champion (1979, 1981-83). He also won silver at the 1976 World and European Championships, bronze at the 1977 World and European Championships, and another silver at the 1978 European Championships. In 1979 Zhluktov helped to win the Challenge Cup between the Soviet Union and the NHL All-Stars, and in 1981 was the Canada Cup champion, also winning a bronze at the 1976 Canada Cup, where he was the tournament’s leading scorer with nine points and five goals. After his sporting career Zhluktov worked as a manager with CSKA Moskva. |
