Biography

Tom Williams was one of the first Americans to have a lengthy career in the NHL. Olympic hockey player Williams never played college hockey but was a terror on amateur teams in the Duluth area. After the Olympics he signed with the Boston Bruins and played with them for eight years. He was a regular forward for the Bruins for many of those years. He was traded to Minnesota in 1969, and then bounced around the NHL and WHA for a few years, finishing a 16-year pro hockey career in 1976 with 192 goals and 327 assists.
