In 1967 Ron Whitney was gold medalist in the 400H at both the Pan American Games, the World University Games, and was AAU champion that year as well. He was bronze medalist at the 1965 World University Games. At the NCAAs he was runner-up in 1963 for Occidental. The AAU and Olympic Trials champion in 1968, he was favored at the 1968 Olympics, but struggled in for sixth place. Personal Bests: 400 – 46.6 (1967); 880y – 1:48.6 (1963); 400H – 49.06 (1968). |
