Biography

A finalist in the AAA high jump from 1932-37, Stan West placed second in 1932 while still a junior and he won both the indoor and outdoor titles in 1935. He was also the Southern champion four times (1933, 1935-37). In the 1934 British Empire Games he finished sixth in the high jump. He did not compete in 1938-39 but after war service with the RAF made a comeback and represented Britain against France in 1945, before finally retiring.

Personal Bests: HJ – 1.90 (6-3) (1935).
