Biography

Leonid Volkov began playing ice hockey with Torpedo Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) in 1951. In 1957 he switched to CSKA Moskva and with them he won seven Soviet Championships (1958-61, 1963-65). Volkov ended his competitive career in the SKA Moskva Oblast from 1965-67. Internationally besides his Olympic gold, Volkov was World and European Champion in 1964 and 1965.
