Juan José Timón had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1963 Pan American Games 4000 metres pursuit team (with Rubén Etchebarne, Alberto Velázquez, and Luis Serra), 2nd in the 1959 Pan American Games 4000 metres pursuit team (with Rodolfo Rodino, Eduardo Puertollano, and the non-Olympian Héctor Placeres).
