Although he continued to compete after 2002, and tried to make the 2006 US Winter Olympic team, he has focused his efforts on a film career, working with Stanford film crews. At the 2003 Winter X superpipe, Thomas landed a 1080, without having attempted it before, but finished in a controversial sixth place.
