Donald Thompson was United States épée champion in 1953. He studied English at the University of Chicago and later became a professor of English and chairman of the department of English at Wilbur Wright College in Chicago. He also pioneered the English for Credit Program on WTTW in Chicago. Thompson received the Univ. of Chicago Amos Alonzo Stagg Award as a scholar-athlete. He was a life-member of the Art Institute of Chicago and a fan of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. |
