Biography

Gerald Tait was a member of the Royal Clyde Yacht Club and won his Olympic gold medal as a crew member aboard Hera, the Club’s entry in the 12-metre class at the 1908 Olympics. He was a partner in the family firm of solicitors in Girvan and held office as Clerk to the Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire.
