Biography

Esther Stroy made the 1968 Olympic Team when she was only 15 years old, still attending Spingarn High School in Washington, DC. She also competed at the 1971 Pan American Games, winning a gold medal in the 4×400 metres relay (with Cheryl Toussaint and the non-Olympians Gwen Norman and Mavis Laing) and a bronze medal in the 200 metres. Stroy won two AAU indoor championships, the 220 yards in 1971-72. She represented Sports International and Howard University, but never competed for Howard.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.5 (1972); 200 – 23.4 (1972); 400 – 53.5 (1968).
