Curt Stone won 13 AAU championships in distance running, including four consecutive in the 6-miles/10K from 1951-54 and there in the 5K in 1947-48 and 1952. At the 1951 Pan-American Games in won gold medals in both the steeplechase and the 10K, and placed fourth in the 1,500.
