Cissie Stewart had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1928 Olympics 4×100 metres Freestyle Relay; 3rd in the 1930 British Empire Games 400 yards Freestyle, 3rd in the 1930 British Empire Games 4×100 yards Freestyle Relay (with Ellen King, Jean McDowell, and the non-Olympian Jessie McVey). In the British Empire Games Stewart represented Scotland.
