Arvid Spångberg moved to the United States after the 1908 Olympics, became known under the name Fred Spongberg, and won several events while diving for the New York Athletic Club. He later served as a coach and swim meet official. He coached for the Downtown AC in 1912, and later was with the Ambassador Swimming Club in Los Angeles and the Detroit Yacht Club. He then returned to the Downtown AC as director of athletics. |
