Dr. Rudolf Soenning later became an ophthalmologist and a politician. Between 1950 and 1970 he was a member of the Landtag of Bavaria (1950-52 for the liberal party FDP and from 1952-70 for the Bavarian party CSU). In 1979 he self-published his autobiography Ein unbequemer Zeitgenosse (An Inconvenient Contemporary). In 1975 he was awarded the Paracelsus Medal by the Bundesärztekammer. Little is known about his bob sleigh career, other than that he took part in the Olympics 1928 in the four/five-man bob. |
