Biography

John Slim was the British featherweight champion in 1905 and 1907 and won silver at the 1908 Olympics in freestyle featherweight class. After the Olympics, Slim retired from wrestling and moved to Germany, where he was responsible for introducing boxing to Germany and was boxing tutor to the Prussian Royal princes before World War I.
