Arne B. Sletsjøe had the following podium finishes at the Flatwater World Championships: 1st 1987 K4 10000 m (with [Arne Johan Almeland], [Harald Amundsen], and [Morten Ivarsen]), 2nd 1983 K4 10000 m (with [Harald Amundsen], [Geir Kvillum], and the non-Olympian Lars-Ivar Gran).

Sletsjøe was the former president of the Norwegian Canoe/Kayak federation.
