Biography

Tim Sheehy had one of the most successful pro hockey careers of any U.S. Olympian. After the 1972 Olympics he was signed by the New England Whalers of the WHA. As a right wing he totaled 33 and 29 goals, and 71 and 58 points in his first two pro seasons. However he slumped a bit in 1974-75 and was traded to the Edmonton Oilers. With the Oilers he also played three years, his best one being 1975-76 when he had 34 goals and 65 points. Sheehy later played for the Birmingham Bulls of the WHA and the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL before finishing up his career where it started – with a last season with the New England Whalers.
