Thad Shideler of Indiana University and the Chicago AA placed second to the 1904 AAU champion, [Frank Castleman] of Colgate, in the heats of the 110m hurdles at the 1904 Olympics. In the final, Shideler beat Castleman but lost to the 1903 AAU champion, [Fred Schule] of the Michigan Wolverines.
