Matthias Seack had the following podium finishes at the Flatwater World Championships: 3rd 1981 K4 1000 m (with Oliver Kegel and the non-Olympians Andreas Flunker and Frank Renner), 3rd 1982 K2 500 m (with Oliver Seack), 3rd 1982 K4 1000 m (with Bernd Hessel, Oliver Seack, and the non-Olympian Frank Renner).
