Biography

Gerry Schreck graduated from high school in his native Pensacola and then moved to New Orleans, where he joined the Southern YC. He sailed with Barton Jahncke as crew under helmsman George "Bud" Friedrichs and this Louisiana trio won the North American Dragon class championship in 1965, 1966, and 1967 before taking the Olympic title in 1968. Schreck was in business as a sailmaker.
