Biography

Peter Salmon had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1950 British Empire Games 110 yards Freestyle, 2nd in the 1950 British Empire Games 3×110 yards Medley Relay (with Allen Gilchrist and Lucien Beaumont). Salmon also finished fourth in the 1950 British Empire Games 4×220 yards Freestyle Relay (with Allen Gilchrist, Leo Portelance, and the non-Olympian Jim Portelance) and qualified for the 1950 British Empire Games 110 yards Backstroke final, but did not start in this race.
