Biography

Patricia Saubert-Wetzel, only 28-years-old when she competed in Berlin, studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, and later at the Art Institute of Chicago. She was spotted by artist and designer Arthur Gunther while she was his student in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her teachers included Finnish-born painter and illustrator Elmer A. Forsberg. Her subjects included landscapes, portraits, and still lives. In 1936 she also held a very successful exhibition of her works in Paris.
