Biography

Bruce Savage played college soccer at Miami-Dade North Junior College in 1978 and 1979 and then turned professional. A defender, Savage played first the Atlanta Chiefs in 1981, both in- and outdoors. He later played with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in 1982, and then was with Team America in 1983. Savage then played indoors for the rest of his career, first with the Phoenix Pride in 1983-84 and then eight years with the Baltimore Blast, retiring in 1992. He was named Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Defender of the Year in the 1986/87 season, and was an MISL All-Start in 1986/87 and 1988/89. Savage was inducted into the Baltimore Blast Hall of Fame in 2005.

Savage played with the US national team from 1983-92, earning 16 caps and playing at the 1984 Olympics. He later coached youth soccer in Florida, also coaching the Gulf Breeze High School boys team.
