Biography

In addition to her two Olympic silver medals, Ute Rührold was European Champion in 1972. At the World Championships, she placed second in 1973 and 1975, with a third-place finish in 1974. Rührold married handball player Wolfgang Böhme, although they later divorced. She later made her living as a tourism manager in the area of Rostock.
