Biography

At the 1964 Tokyo Olympics Fritz Roderfeld reached the second round of the 200. His biggest moment came at the 1966 European Championships when he earned a silver medal with the 4x400 relay and finished sixth in the 200. One year later, at the European Cup, Roderfeld was runner-up with the relay and in the 400. He earned his only West German title in 1967 in the 400. Roderfeld later became a sprint coach at the well-known German soccer club FC Schalke 04 from 1970-80.
