Dutch urban architect Daan Roodenburgh designed the “De Meer” stadion, which was the home of the football club AFC Ajax from 1934-96. He was later made an Honorary Member of the club and was its commissioner from 1932-38. In 1984, Roodenburgh was inducted into the Ajax Hall of Fame. He was very diverse, designing houses, churches, schools, furniture, fire stations, theatres, factories and shops, especially in Amsterdam and surroundings.
