Both a sculler and sweeper, Gail Ricketson also skiied while at the University of New Hampshire, making the All-East Ski Team. She won three national championships – two U.S. and one West German – and was a winner at the 1978 National Sports Festival. Although she went to the 1980 Olympic Trials, it was as a sculler and she failed to be selected for the team. Ricketson rowed for the College Boat Club in Philadelphia and is a sculling coach at that club as well as the assistant women’s crew coach at Penn. She has worked as a medical lab technician, using her undergraduate degree in microbiology |
