During his career, which lasted from 1992-04, Repo competed at three Winter Olympics (1994-02) and five World Championships (1995-03), with his best individual finish at those competitions an 11th, which he achieved at the 2001 World Championships in both pursuit and the 15 km classical. Repo also had three podium finishes at World Cup events, finishing second in 10 km freestyle at Beitostølen in 2000, and third in the 10 km classical at Vuokatti in 1995 and the 10 km freestyle at Muonio in 1998. His best overall World Cup finish was 15th in the 1996-97 season. Domestically Repo won nine Finnish titles – 50 km in 1997, 1998 and 2002; 2002-03 pursuit, 2004 30 km freestyle, 2004 10 km freestyle, and the 2001 and 2004 relay.
