Biography

After winning the 1932 NCAA long jump with a career best of 25-6¼ (7.78), Charles Redd of Bradley finished second to Ed Gordon at the Final Trials. Gordon again beat Redd at the Olympics, but in an extremely close finish – Redd only failed to take the gold by four centimeters.
