Jimmy Reardon attended St. Mary's College where he set school records in the 220 yards and was a wing on the rugby 15. In 1947 he was the first Irishman to win an AAA title, taking the 440 yards in 48.3 seconds. After the 1948 Olympics Reardon attended Villanova University, graduating in 1954 with a degree in economics. Reardon settled near Villanova, in Philadelphia, and started a car dealership. He also introduced rugby to the Philadelphians, and in 1961 was the first president of the Philadelphia Rugby Football Club, and started the Villanova Rugby Football Club in 1959.
