Alexander Posch was a German painter mainly of still lifes from fruits, flowers and potteries. His son Claudius also became a well-known painter and graphic artist in Darmstadt. In 1920 Alexander Posch was one of the co-founders of the artist group “Posch-Pfeil-Richter” which was later renamed to “Darmstadt Group”. In 1931 he was awarded the “Georg-Büchner-Preis” by then Volksstaat Hessen.
