Biography

George Park had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×220 yards Freestyle Relay (with Allen Gilchrist, Gerry McNamee, and the non-Olympian Ted Simpson), 2nd in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×110 yards Medley Relay (with Robert Wheaton and the non-Olympians K. Williams and P. W. Bell); 2nd in the 1955 Pan American Games 100 metre Freestyle, 3rd in the 1955 Pan American Games 4×200 metre Freestyle Relay (with Allen Gilchrist, Gerry McNamee, and the non-Olympian Ted Simpson).

Park also finished fourth in 110 yards freestyle and fifth 3×110 yards medley relay (with the non-Olympians John Anderson and Ted Simpson) at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. In the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 110 yards freestyle Park was eliminated in the heats.
