Biography

Sigurd Overby was the youngest of eight children born to Norwegian parents, the family immigrating to the United States in 1915. He won three US cross-country championships in 1916, 1923, and 1926. A small, wiry man, he later became a dairy farmer. Overby was inducted into the US Ski Hall of Fame in 1976.
