Biography

Dorothy Odam-Tyler had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1936 Olympics High Jump, 2nd in the 1948 Olympics High Jump; 1st in the 1938 British Empire Games High Jump (as Miss Dorothy Odam), 1st in the 1950 British Empire Games High Jump, 2nd in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games High Jump.

In the 1950 British Empire Games she also finished fourth in the javelin throw, eighth in the long jump, and was eliminated in the heats of 80 metre hurdles. In the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games she finished fifth in the javelin throw and eleventh in the long jump. In all British Empire Games she represented England.

Personal Best: HJ – 1.68 (1948).
