Jack O'Callahan

Jack O'Callahan played at Boston University and was on the 1978 NCAA championship team. In that year he was named the team’s MVP and the school’s Athlete of the Year O'Callahan graduated from BU in 1979 with plans to eventually enter law school. But he would defer those plans to play first with the Olympic team and then in the NHL. After the Olympics, Jack O'Callahan signed with the Chicago Black Hawks. Hampered by a knee injury and eventual surgery he played little in the NHL for two years, playing mainly with the New Brunswick and Springfield farm clubs. However in late 1982 he was called up to the Black Hawks. He played for five years with them and finished his NHL career with the New Jersey Devils, retiring in 1989. He later co-founded Beanpot Financial Services.
