Biography

Fred Newbery was born and educated in England, at the Finsburg Technical College in London. He came to the United States in 1898, settling in St. Louis. He set up a well-known electrical engineering firm, which consulted extensively throughout the United States. Not well known as a golfer, he was a member of Glen Echo Golf Club in St. Louis, where the 1904 Olympic golf events were contested.
