Olga Nazarova won most of her international medals in the 4×400 relay. She made her international début at the 1987 World Championships, winning silver in the 4×400. Her best international tournament was the 1988 Olympics where she won bronze in the 400 and was a member of the Soviet 4×400 relay team that won the gold medal with a world record of 3:15.18, which still stands as of January 2012. Nazarova won two more 4×400 gold medals at major international tournaments, at the 1991 World Championships and at the 1992 Olympics, before retiring after the fall of Soviet Union. Nazarova was also Soviet 400 champion in 1987-88 and 1992. Personal Best: 400 – 49.11 (1988). |
