Fred Murray was on the Stanford track team for three years and was captain in his senior year – 1916. He entered the 1915 AAU as a member of the Olympic Club (San Francisco) and won the 110y and 220y hurdles. He won the low hurdles again the following year and won both IC4A hurdle titles. Murray later served with the American Expeditionary Forces in France and then joined the Metropolitan Newspaper Service as a sports cartoonist. Personal Best: 120yH – 15.0 (1916). |
