Biography

Fred Moloney competed in the 100 m and the 110 m and 200 m hurdles at the 1900 Olympics, but he qualified only for the final of the high hurdles, where he took the bronze medal. His brother, [William Moloney], also competed in Paris, and qualified for the final of the 400 m but did not contest it because it was held on a Sunday. Fred Moloney registered at the University of Chicago various times between 1898 and 1907 but never completed work for a degree. He later became the vice president and general manager of the Helios Corp. in Ottawa, Illinois. The Moloney brothers' father was Maurice Moloney, a form Illinois Attorney General.
