Carlos Monteverde had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1959 Pan American Games 25 m centre fire pistol team (with Carlos Crassus and the non-Olympians Hermann Espinal and Pedro Bujana), 3rd in the 1955 Pan American Games 25 m centre fire pistol team (with Carlos Marrero, José Bernal, and the non-Olympian Humberto Paredes).
