Biography

Kyushichi Miyajima was a Japanese professor, medalist, and industrial designer from Osaka. Originally a sculptor he later focused on product design. Miyajima founded the industrial design office of the Japanese Mint, the origin of the Tokyo Crafts High School. The mint not only produced coins but also commemorative medals. He was a member of the design committee for the 1970 Expo in Osaka, and was also involved in design education and was responsible for the development of design talents at the university.
