Chuck Mellor twice ran the Olympic marathon for the United States. He made the 1920 Olympic Team by winning a short-course qualifier at the Detroit marathon. In 1924, he finished second at the Boston Marathon to make the team. Mellor came back in 1925 to win the Boston Marathon. He also finished second in that race in 1921.
