Biography

Amadou Méité was a sprinter who ran the 100 metres up to the 400. He represented Côte d’Ivoire at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games, as well as at the 1978 All-Africa Games, where he won a gold medal in the 100 metres. His son [Ben Youssef Méité] also later competed at the 2012 Olympics. Amadou Méité won multiple national sprint titles, his last championship coming in the 1981 200 metres.

Personal Best\: 100 – 10.32 (1980).
