A 6-8 (2.03) center for Marquette University Frank McCabe graduated in 1950 after four good, but not spectacular, years at the Catholic school. He was their top player only in his senior year when he led the team in scoring with 13 points per game. McCabe really came into his own after his college days as he joined the Peoria Caterpillars AAU team and helped them to win three straight national titles in 1952, 1953 and 1954. Frank McCabe was named AAU All-America from 1951 thru 1954 consecutively. After joining the Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1951 he remained with the firm to his retirement. |
