Harold Manning won the AAU steeplechase in 1934 and 1936. At the 1936 Olympic Trials, Manning won in 9:08.2, setting a US record and a world best, although the IAAF did not recognized steeplechase world records until 1954. He competed for Wichita State and the Wichita AC. Personal Bests: 2 miles – 9:18.2 (1930); 3000S – 9:08.2 (1936). |
