Biography

Gholam Mazloomi was a striker who played for the Iranian national team from 1969-77, earning 48 caps, and scoring 37 international goals. His club career started as a junior with Taj Abadan in 1962 and he played with them at the start of his senior career, remaining with them through 1968, at which time he moved to Taj from 1968-75. Mazloomi finished his club career with Shahbaz from 1975-78. While playing with Taj he won two Takht Jamshid League titles in 1970/71 and 1974/75, won the Teheran Football League title four times consecutively from 1970-73, and helped them win the Asian Club Championship in 1969/70. Mazloomi helped Iran to the 1974 Asian Games title, where he was the MVP and top scorer.

After his playing career ended, Mazloomi became a team manager. He started with Esteghial’s youth team from 1980-88, then took over their senior team in 1988/89. He managed Iran’s U-20 team in 1989-90, and then managed Esteghial Ahvaz in 1993-95, Moghavemat Teheran in 1995-97, Petroshimi Mahshahr in 1997-99, and Payam Teheran from 1999-2000.
