Biography

Ray Lumpp was a star at New York University in the late 40s. He went from there to play pro basketball, mainly with the New York Knicks, but also briefly with the Indianapolis Olympians and the Baltimore Bullets. Lumpp was a 6-1 (1.85) guard whose main forte was playmaking. After his basketball days ended he was director of the New York Athletic Club and active on the board of the U.S. Olympians Club. He also served as an official at track meets and was, for a time, meet director of the U.S. Olympic Invitational Track Meet.
