A welterweight, Tommy Lown was AAU Champion in 1927-28, which qualified him for the 1928 Olympic team, but he lost in the first round in Amsterdam to Argentina’s [Raúl Landini]. Lown was captain of the 1928 US Olympic boxing team. He turned pro in early 1929 and fought professionally through the beginning of 1931, compiling a record of 12 wins and 2 losses.
