In 1936, Stjepan Ljubić competed in the Tour de France, although he did not finish. That year, four Yugoslavs and four Romanians competed in the Tour, the first cyclists in that event from Eastern Europe. But Ljubić became the first cyclist from Eastern Europe to compete in both the Olympics and the Tour de France. |
